Stardate 25701.3, Red Squad, you are hereby assigned to the U.S.S. Typhon NX-85808, under command of Lieutenant Commander Worf. you are to locate the Captain Brennen and his crew of the Sentinel. the Sentinel was last seen in the... This is what you would be hearing if had played “Star Trek: Invasion” the first Star Trek game for Playstation (it’s about time). I love Star trek of course, and it’s one of the first Trek games, besides “Hidden Evil" to work on any gaming system of mine (pretty sad isn't it?). And while it has a weird way of switching difficulty through the game, all of the level’s are moderately fun, but waaaay too slow. As for the sound, it has some fairly tolerable background music but it gets annoying after a while. The SFX are moderate. And the graphics are a tribute to Star Trek itself. they are not the best ever, but they are solid and don’t slow down the gameplay. The plot is as good as any other Trek game. Star Trek: Invasion Begins with the simple task of passing basic training. After you get used to the controls and beat the two training level’s, you have a few easy level’s to beat and you also find out that the sentinel attacked the romulan’s while they were conducting training exercise and didn’t answer any of their hail’s and almost destroyed one of their ships. And I can’t tell you anything else or I’ll spoil the rest of the story (what there is of it, anyway). The controls are a bit too hard for my liking. it’s radar is the worst I’ve ever used, it serve’s no purpose! And following an arrow to find ship’s isn’t any walk in the park. It is not the good two player game I had hoped for, the holo matches (battles against each other) take way too long. But it has five two player missions that are fairly fun, but finding how to unlock these level’s is the biggest challenge in the whole game Big fans of Star Trek have pretty large chance of liking this game, but still, please, rent it first.
